ST. GEORGE — The St. George Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for robbing a Wal-Mart store Sunday night before fleeing the area on foot.
At approximately 8:15 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Bloomington Wal-Mart located on Pioneer road.
An unidentified male suspect – wearing a blue jumpsuit, blue latex gloves, a surgical mask and possibly a fake beard – entered the store and approached the Customer Service counter, the St. George Police Department said in a media statement Monday.
The male suspect produced a note demanding Wal-Mart employees give him money with no dye pack, police said. The suspect did not appear to be armed.
The suspect then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
Video surveillance footage shows the suspect flee the store, run into the southwest parking lot and round the corner to head west toward the Virgin River.
Officers were able to collect several pieces of evidence, police said, but were not able to locate the robbery suspect.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect shown in the attached surveillance photos, or those who may have any information regarding this incident, to contact the St. George Police Department at 435-627-4300.
Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.
